A Police Officer Groped a Woman While Taking Her to Jail. Jesse Davis Got Probation.

Former Police Officer Jesse Davis Groped a Woman in His Patrol Car. He Got Probation.

Jesse Edward Lorenzo Davis was a police officer in Pittsburg, Kansas.

In August 2017, he was supposed to be transporting a woman to jail.

Instead, according to the criminal case against him, Davis coerced and groped her inside his patrol car while acting under the authority of his badge.

Davis was initially charged with aggravated sexual battery and official misconduct. He ultimately pleaded no contest to aggravated battery.

In 2018, the former officer was sentenced to 24 months of probation.

No prison.

He was also ordered to register as a sex offender.

There is something especially disturbing about abuse committed by someone whose position gives him power over the person he harms. She was in police custody. She was inside his patrol car. She should have been safe from the officer transporting her.

Instead, he used that position of authority against her.
