On January 20, 2021, the 42-year-old Quintanilla surrendered to police after an investigation into allegations involving a minor.
According to criminal complaints and probable-cause affidavits, the investigation began after the child and her family came forward.
The girl reported at least three separate incidents between August and November 2020 in which Quintanilla allegedly touched her inappropriately at her residence.
Quintanilla was arrested and charged with three counts of indecency with a child by sexual contact, each a second-degree felony under Texas law.
He was released the same day after posting $90,000 bond, or $30,000 for each charge.
Following his arrest, Customs and Border Protection placed Quintanilla on paid administrative leave while its Office of Professional Responsibility cooperated with the local investigation.
The information here documents criminal charges, not a conviction, and does not provide the ultimate disposition of the case. The allegations therefore need to remain allegations unless later court records establish what happened.
But the reason this belongs in the Accountability Archive is clear:
A child came forward. Her family reported it. Investigators found enough evidence to pursue three felony charges against a federal Border Patrol agent.
