Border Patrol Agent Luis Lozada Sexually Abused a 15-Year-Old Girl. He Got Six Years.

Luis Angel Lozada was a U.S. Border Patrol agent assigned to the El Paso, Texas, sector.

In March 2015, he was arrested after the mother of a 15-year-old girl discovered incriminating Facebook Messenger conversations.

Investigators determined that Lozada had been involved in an illegal sexual relationship with the girl for more than a year.

She was 15.

Lozada had worked for Customs and Border Protection since 2009. After his arrest, the agency placed him on administrative leave and later separated him from employment.

In October 2015, Lozada pleaded guilty in West Texas to three counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual performance of a child.

He was sentenced to six years in state prison on each count, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently.

The phrase “sexual relationship” doesn't belong anywhere near a case like this without context.

She was a 15-year-old child. He was an adult federal law-enforcement officer. He sexually abused her for more than a year.
