Border Patrol Agent Vernon Millican Sexually Abused a 13-Year-Old Child and Produced CSAM. He Got 50 Years.

Vernon Lee Millican spent nine years as a U.S. Border Patrol agent, serving in the Del Rio Sector in Texas.

Then an investigation linked him to the sexual abuse and exploitation of a 13-year-old child.

The investigation originated in Oregon and eventually led federal agents to Millican. In January 2019, the FBI raided his home in Leakey, Texas. He was arrested and subsequently terminated from the Border Patrol.

Investigators determined that Millican had sexually abused the 13-year-old and created sexually explicit recordings of the child.

In October 2019, Millican pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts involving the production and possession of child pornography, the statutory terminology used in the case.

On January 24, 2020, a federal judge sentenced him to 50 years in federal prison.

If he ever leaves prison, Millican will face another 20 years of supervised release.

He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 assessment under the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.

The word “production” can make these crimes sound almost clinical.

It isn't.

A grown man sexually abused a 13-year-old child and created a permanent record of that abuse. Vernon Millican was also a federal law-enforcement officer. He got 50 fucking years.
