Brandon Fazekas Killed His Girlfriend and Teenage Daughter, Then Opened Fire on Police and SWAT Officers

On July 5, 2026, Brandon Fazekas, a 38-year-old Ohio man, carried out a deadly shooting at a home in Rittman, Ohio, that left his girlfriend and teenage daughter dead and multiple law enforcement officers wounded.

Police were called to a home on Chippewa Trail around 9:30 p.m. after reports of a break-in and gunfire.

When officers arrived, they were immediately confronted with heavy gunfire from Fazekas, who fired an estimated 70 to 75 rounds during the attack.

Inside the home, authorities found Christine McWilliams, 43, Fazekas’s girlfriend, and McKinley McWilliams, 13, his daughter. Both had been shot and killed.

During the confrontation, Fazekas also fatally shot Rittman Police Sergeant Scott Fries, 54.

Four members of the Medina County SWAT team were shot and wounded, and a Wayne County Sheriff’s Office K-9 named Vick was injured by bullet fragments.

Fazekas ultimately died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Because Fazekas died, there will be no criminal trial. Authorities identified him as the person responsible for the killings and shootings following the investigation.

Public records show that Fazekas had previous convictions for breaking and entering, vandalism, and forgery, as well as a prior probation violation.

But those records aren't the story that matters most here.

Christine McWilliams was 43. McKinley McWilliams was only 13. Sgt. Scott Fries was 54. Three people were killed, four SWAT officers were wounded, and a police dog was injured. McKinley was a fucking child, and she should have been safe with her own father.
