Briar Maier Accused of Trafficking 18-Year-Old College Student After Allegedly Fueling Her Drug Addiction

Briar Maier Is Accused of Trafficking an 18-Year-Old College Student After Getting Her Addicted to Crack Cocaine

Briar Maier of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, is facing a felony human-trafficking charge involving an 18-year-old University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee student.

According to prosecutors, the two met through Snapchat in 2024. After the young woman picked Maier up from a local music venue, he reportedly stayed with her in her dorm room at Sandburg Residence Hall for several days.

Prosecutors allege that Maier then introduced her to what she believed was MDMA, or ecstasy, but was actually crack cocaine.

Once she became addicted, authorities allege that Maier increasingly controlled her life. He allegedly took control of her phone, used her credit cards, and forced her to perform sex acts with random men for money, keeping the proceeds for himself.

Prosecutors say the alleged trafficking continued between October 2024 and February 2025.

Maier was arrested in May 2026 and charged with one felony count of human trafficking. His bond was set at $20,000.

The charge is extremely serious, but this case remains pending. Maier has not been convicted of human trafficking, and the allegations must still be proven in court.

What prosecutors describe is a recognizable form of exploitation: addiction allegedly being used as another mechanism of control.

She was 18, living in a college dorm and beginning her adult life. Prosecutors say Maier got her addicted to crack, took control of her phone and money, and sold sexual access to her body while keeping the fucking cash. Now a court has to determine whether they can prove it.
