Bryan Andrew Moore Is Accused of Killing Three People, Including a 16-Year-Old Who Tried to Protect Children

Bryan Andrew Moore, 38, was indicted in June 2026 in connection with a triple homicide and hours-long armed standoff in Sandy, Oregon.

On May 31, authorities responded to a domestic disturbance at a duplex off Evans Street. Police say Moore shot and killed three people before barricading himself inside the residence.

The victims were Jenna Mary Overson, 37, Moore’s wife and the mother of his child; Mary Beth Overson, 70, Jenna’s mother; and Kobyn McClure, 16, a freshman at Sandy High School.

According to reports, Kobyn was killed while trying to protect Jenna’s children.

What followed was a multi-hour standoff involving regional SWAT teams and law enforcement agencies. During the confrontation, Sandy Police Sergeant Garrett Thornton was shot four times and seriously wounded.

Moore was eventually taken into custody.

A 17-count indictment charges him with three counts of first-degree murder, along with attempted aggravated murder and assault in connection with the shooting of Sgt. Thornton and additional attempted aggravated murder charges involving responding officers.

Prosecutors also allege Moore held two young children, ages 20 months and 3 years, as hostages and used them as shields during the standoff. He faces first-degree kidnapping and coercion charges related to those allegations.

Additional charges include first-degree robbery with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and weapons and methamphetamine offenses.

Moore has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail in the Clackamas County Jail. The charges remain pending and have not been proven at trial.

Jenna was 37. Mary Beth was 70. Kobyn was fucking 16. He reportedly stepped into an adult nightmare to protect little children and lost his life doing it. Remember his name: Kobyn McClure.
