Former CHP Officer Brian Pardue Tried to Arrange Sex With Someone He Believed Was 16. He Got Probation.

Brian Pardue was a 51-year-old California Highway Patrol officer when he was caught in an undercover operation in 2020.

A detective posed online as a 16-year-old girl named “Anna.” Pardue contacted the account and, despite being told her age, engaged in sexually explicit conversations and attempted to arrange a meeting for sex.

The meeting never happened, but investigators had preserved the communications.

In July 2023, a Kern County jury convicted Pardue of communicating with a minor for a sexual purpose and arranging to meet with a minor for a lewd act.

His sentence was two years of probation.

No prison.

He was also required to register as a sex offender.

Pardue was not communicating with an actual child, and that distinction belongs in the record.

But he believed he was talking to a 16-year-old.

He was a 51-year-old law enforcement officer.

And a jury convicted him.
