Conrad Troy Tillman Shot and Killed His Wife While Their 11-Year-Old Daughter Sat in the Back Seat

Conrad Troy Tillman of Fort Washakie, Wyoming, was sentenced to nearly 29 years in federal prison for killing his wife, Utahnna Bearcomesout.

On April 14, 2024, Tillman and Bearcomesout were traveling in a pickup truck on Highway 287 within the Wind River Indian Reservation when an argument began.

Tillman was driving.

Their 11-year-old daughter was sitting in the back seat.

During the argument, Tillman pulled out a semi-automatic pistol and shot his wife in the head, killing her.

Their daughter witnessed her mother's killing from the back seat.

Afterward, Tillman flagged down a passing motorist and asked them to contact emergency services.

Tillman later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder as part of a plea agreement.

Federal prosecutors argued that the killing was premeditated and sought a harsher sentence. The judge rejected that finding but increased Tillman's sentence because he killed Bearcomesout in front of their child and while operating a moving vehicle.

On March 21, 2025, Tillman was sentenced to 348 months and 23 days in federal prison, just under 29 years, followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay restitution.

Utahnna Bearcomesout deserves to be more than “the victim” in another domestic-violence case.

Her name was Utahnna Bearcomesout. Her husband shot her in the head while their 11-year-old daughter sat in the back seat. That child lost her mother and witnessed the fucking reason why.
