Don Spirit Murdered His Daughter and Six Grandchildren, Including a 3-Month-Old Baby

Sarah Lorraine Spirit was 28.

Her children were Kaleb, 11; Destiny, 9; Johnathan, 8; Brandon, 5; Alannah, 3; and Alason, just 3 months old.

On September 18, 2014, Don Spirit called 911 and confessed that he had killed his daughter and all six of his grandchildren at their home in Bell, Florida.

When deputies arrived, Spirit killed himself.

Inside, they found Sarah and all six children dead from gunshot wounds.

Horrifyingly, this was not the first time Spirit had killed one of his children. In 2001, he fatally shot his 8-year-old son, Kyle, during a hunting trip. That shooting was ruled accidental, but Spirit later served prison time because, as a convicted felon, he illegally possessed the gun.

Thirteen years later, seven more members of his family were dead.

There would be no trial. No sentence. No courtroom reckoning.

But there can still be remembrance.

Sarah. Kaleb. Destiny. Johnathan. Brandon. Alannah. Alason. And Kyle.

Eight names that deserve to be remembered.
