Drew Michael Brooks was the executive director of Faith Partners, a Minnesota nonprofit focused on addiction recovery, when investigators began looking into activity connected to his Microsoft account.
In October 2024, police searched Brooks' home and office. Investigators reported finding 36 printed images of child sexual abuse material in his home.
Prosecutors eventually charged Brooks with 12 felony counts of possessing pornographic material involving minors.
In October 2025, Brooks pleaded guilty to three counts. The remaining nine counts were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Then came the sentence.
In February 2026, Brooks received a stayed five-year prison sentence, five years of supervised probation, and five years of conditional release.
His jail sentence?
One day.
And because Brooks had already spent a day in custody following his arrest, that requirement was considered satisfied.
Thirty-six images.
Three felony convictions.
One day behind bars.
