Former Border Patrol Agent and School Police Officer Jaime Ocañas Was Charged With Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child.

Former Border Patrol Agent Jaime Ocañas Was Accused of Sexually Abusing a Girl Beginning When She Was 11

Jaime Ivan Ocañas was a former U.S. Border Patrol agent who later became a police officer for the McAllen Independent School District in Texas.

In January 2013, Ocañas was arrested after a 26-year-old woman came forward with a devastating allegation.

She said Ocañas had sexually abused her continuously for approximately six years, beginning in 1998.

She was 11 years old when the alleged abuse began.

Ocañas was 19.

By the time of his arrest, Ocañas had left the Border Patrol and was working as a school district police officer, a position he had held since 2007.

After authorities revealed the criminal investigation, the McAllen Independent School District terminated his employment in December 2012.

Ocañas was subsequently arrested by the Pharr Police Department and charged with continuous sexual assault of a minor.

The information available here establishes an arrest and criminal charge, not a conviction, and does not provide the eventual disposition of the case. The allegations therefore need to remain described as allegations.

But the woman's allegation deserves to be stated plainly.

She said the abuse began when she was 11 years old and continued for six fucking years. Years later, the man she accused had become both a federal Border Patrol agent and a school police officer.
