Former CBP Officer Anthony Crowley Possessed Child Sexual Abuse Material. He Got Nearly Six Years in Federal Prison.

Anthony John Crowley spent 23 years in federal law enforcement, including serving as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer in Minnesota.

Then investigators traced child sexual abuse material directly to him.

The investigation began in 2022, when the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension received a tip involving a user uploading illegal material through the Kik messaging app.

Investigators traced the account to Crowley’s personal phone number and email address.

A federal search of his home uncovered multiple electronic devices containing sexually explicit images of minors and other sexualized material involving children.

Crowley was arrested in June 2025.

In September, he pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography, the statutory name of the offense.

On January 29, 2026, a federal judge sentenced Crowley to 71 months in federal prison, just one month short of six years.

He will also serve 10 years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $10,000 under the federal Amy, Vicky, and Andy Child Pornography Victim Assistance Act.

Twenty-three years in federal law enforcement.

He knew what those files represented. They weren't fucking pictures. They were evidence of real children being sexually abused, and a veteran federal officer chose to possess them anyway.
