Former Wisconsin Cop Dakota “Cody” Dorn Pleaded Guilty to Sex Crimes Involving Children

Dakota “Cody” Dorn was a police officer with the Spooner Police Department in Wisconsin.

In 2023, his department learned of allegations involving an inappropriate relationship between Dorn and a minor. Investigators said he had used his position as an officer and his connection to the local school district to interact with juvenile victims.

Dorn resigned from the police department while the investigation was underway.

He initially faced 12 criminal charges, including child enticement, sexual assault, and exposing intimate parts.

In August 2026, Dorn pleaded guilty to five charges, including three counts of exposing his genitals to a child and two counts involving sexual intercourse with a child over 16. The remaining charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

His sentence was one year in jail and 3½ years of probation.

He had been a police officer with access to young people through programs connected to local schools.

The position that gave him access to children should have been a position of trust.
