Former D.C. Police Officer Linwood Barnhill Jr. Sex Trafficked Minors. He Was Sentenced to 27 Years.

Linwood Barnhill Jr. spent 24 years as an officer with Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department.

His first major criminal case came in 2013, when police discovered a missing 16-year-old girl inside his apartment. Barnhill resigned from the department and later pleaded guilty to pandering a minor and possessing child pornography. He served several years in prison and became a registered sex offender.

Then he did it again.

In 2025, federal authorities arrested Barnhill as part of an FBI child exploitation investigation.

Barnhill pleaded guilty to sex trafficking a minor, admitting that he recruited girls under 18 for commercial sex acts. Prosecutors said he used the alias "Nico," forced victims to dance at strip clubs and engage in sex work, and collected more than $10,000 from their exploitation.

In January 2026, a federal judge sentenced him to 27 years in prison, followed by lifetime supervised release.

He had once worn a badge.

He had already been convicted, imprisoned, and required to register as a sex offender.

Then he returned to exploiting girls.

This time, the sentence was 27 years.
