Brandon Licciardi was a deputy with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana.
Then investigators uncovered his involvement in a horrifying scheme connected to former NFL player Darren Sharper.
Prosecutors said Licciardi helped distribute controlled substances, including MDMA, alprazolam, diazepam, and zolpidem, knowing the drugs would be used to incapacitate and rape women. Investigators said he referred to the drugged drinks as “horny juice.”
Licciardi ultimately pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to distribute drugs with the intent to commit rape and obstruction of justice.
In 2016, he was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison, to run concurrently with his state sentences.
In April 2026, Licciardi was released from federal prison after serving the majority of that sentence and transitioned to a halfway house.
He had been a sheriff’s deputy.
Someone entrusted with enforcing the law instead participated in a scheme designed to make women incapable of consent.
The badge makes that betrayal of trust impossible to ignore.
