Former Sheriff’s Deputy Mario Reyes Pleaded Guilty to Indecency With a Child. He Got Probation.

Mario Reyes spent years in law enforcement in Webb County, Texas, including serving as a deputy with the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.

Then a woman came forward and reported that Reyes had inappropriately touched her daughter. She said the abuse began in 2021.

Reyes was arrested in May 2024 and charged with indecency with a child by sexual contact, a second-degree felony.

In April 2025, the former deputy pleaded guilty.

His sentence was 10 years of deferred-adjudication probation.

No prison.

Reyes was also required to register as a sex offender.

This was a man who spent years wearing a badge and working inside the criminal justice system.

Then he stood before that same system and pleaded guilty to indecency with a child.

He walked away with probation.
