Former Deputy Michael Clark Sexually Abused Women Under Color of Authority. A Jury Convicted Him on All 11 Counts.

Former Kern County Deputy Michael Clark Used His Badge to Sexually Abuse Women

Michael Everett Clark was a deputy with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office in California.

In 2019, a woman reported that Clark had forced himself on her after offering her a ride home in his patrol vehicle.

Then more women came forward.

The investigation eventually produced 11 criminal charges involving three women, including allegations of sexual battery, stalking, false imprisonment, and assault under color of authority.

In June 2025, a Kern County jury found Clark guilty on all 11 counts.

His convictions included two counts of sexual battery, two counts of stalking, three counts of assault under color of authority, false imprisonment, and three associated misdemeanor offenses.

Clark was sentenced to five years and eight months in state prison. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years and stay away from the victims.

This started with a deputy offering a woman a ride home.

The badge should have made her safer. Instead, it gave him access.
