Former HSI Agent Kent Blacklidge Faces 11 Felony Sex-Crime Charges Involving a Juvenile Girl

Kent Ian Blacklidge spent his career with Homeland Security Investigations, where his work reportedly included investigating child-exploitation cases and advising communities on how to identify child predators.

Now he is accused of sexually abusing a juvenile girl himself.

The investigation began in January 2026, after Spanish Fort Police in Alabama received a report alleging sexual abuse of an underage girl.

After an eight-month investigation involving multiple agencies, Blacklidge surrendered in September 2026.

A Baldwin County grand jury indicted him on 11 felony charges, including first- and second-degree rape, first- and second-degree sodomy, four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, and incest.

A judge initially set his bond at $560,000 and ordered that he have no contact with minors as a condition of release.

Then prosecutors alleged he violated that condition by seeking contact with minors.

The Alabama Attorney General's Office subsequently asked the court to revoke his bond and hold him without bail while the case proceeds.

Blacklidge has not been convicted, and his attorney has said the defense looks forward to proving his innocence in court. The charges therefore remain allegations unless proven or admitted.

But the institutional betrayal alleged here is impossible to miss.

He worked cases involving the sexual exploitation of children. He taught communities how to recognize predators. Now he stands accused of the very kind of crimes he was trusted to investigate.
