Former Sheriff’s Deputy Donald Fair Sexually Abused a 10-Month-Old Baby

Donald Leigh Fair had worked in law enforcement.

He was a former El Paso County sheriff’s deputy and later worked as an investigator for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Colorado.

Then investigators discovered what he had done to a baby.

Fair photographed himself sexually abusing a 10-month-old infant and offered to share those images through an internet message board.

Ten months old.

In 2017, Fair was arrested and charged with sexual assault on a child.

The following year, he pleaded guilty to child sexual assault.

His sentence was 10 years to life on supervised probation.

No prison.

Prosecutors said the plea agreement was intended to spare the young victim the additional trauma of eventually having to testify in court.

Whatever the reasoning behind the deal, the facts remain fucking unbearable.

A baby could not understand what was happening.

Could not consent.

Could not protect herself.

He sexually abused a 10-month-old child, photographed it, offered those images to other people, and never went to prison.
