HSI Agent John Olivas Raped and Beat Women, Then Used His Badge to Terrify Them Into Silence. He Got Life.

HSI Special Agent John Olivas Sexually Assaulted Two Women and Used His Badge to Keep Them Silent. He Got Life.

John Jacob Olivas spent years working for ICE and Homeland Security Investigations.

He was also sexually assaulting women.

In 2012, Olivas beat and sexually assaulted two women he was dating. Evidence presented at trial showed that he raped one of the women twice and attempted to rape the other.

Then he weaponized his position in federal law enforcement.

Olivas told the women he was “above a cop,” “untouchable,” and “invisible” to local police. He used his badge and authority to convince them that reporting him would be useless because law enforcement would never act against him.

For years, that fear helped keep them silent.

But Olivas wasn't untouchable.

In December 2022, a federal jury convicted him of three counts of deprivation of rights under color of law following an 11-day trial.

On May 8, 2023, a federal judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The judge described Olivas's conduct as the “systematic torture of women.”

He had spent approximately six years as an HSI special agent before resigning from the agency in 2015.

He told women his badge made him untouchable. A federal jury proved him fucking wrong.
