Hunter Chenoweth Murdered His Mother, Sister and Stepfather. He Will Die in Prison.

Hunter Chenoweth Murdered Three Members of His Family. His Infant Sister Was Found Alive in His Truck.

Hunter Nolan Chenoweth was 22 years old when he murdered three members of his family inside their Arkansas home.

On February 23, 2021, Chenoweth killed his 51-year-old mother, Tammie Lynn Chenoweth, shooting her at least nine times.

His 26-year-old sister, Cheyenne Chenoweth, was stabbed four times and shot in the chest.

His 59-year-old stepfather, James Stanley McGehee, was shot at least six times when he arrived home from work.

Then Chenoweth fled.

Inside his truck was his infant sister.

Police launched a multi-state search before authorities arrested him near Benton, Arkansas. The baby was recovered alive.

Chenoweth initially pleaded not guilty and was facing a capital-murder trial and the possibility of the death penalty.

Then, in February 2025, after prosecutors rested their case and presented extensive evidence against him, Chenoweth changed his plea.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of capital murder in exchange for the death penalty being taken off the table.

He was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.

Three people were slaughtered inside their own family.

A baby was carried away from the scene.

Tammie, Cheyenne, and James should be more than the body count in Hunter Chenoweth's story. Their names belong here.
