ICE Official Anthony Mangione Helped Oversee Child Pornography Investigations. Then Investigators Found It on His Own Computers.

The ICE Agent Running Child Pornography Investigations Was Caught With Child Sexual Abuse Material

Anthony Victor Mangione wasn't some low-level federal employee.

He was the Special Agent in Charge of ICE's Miami office, overseeing the agency's South Florida operations and major federal investigations.

Those investigations included cases targeting child pornography networks.

Then federal investigators searched his home.

In 2011, agents discovered child sexual abuse material on Mangione's computers, including material he had shared online using multiple screen names.

He was indicted on federal charges and retired from ICE shortly after the investigation began, ending a 27-year federal law enforcement career.

In 2012, Mangione pleaded guilty to transportation of child pornography, the statutory name of the federal offense. Investigators demonstrated that he had used his personal computer to email sexually explicit images of children ranging from 3 to 15 years old.

He was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release.

The hypocrisy here is fucking staggering.

He helped lead an agency office responsible for investigating child sexual abuse material while possessing and distributing it himself.
