Jarrod Lee Bacon Sexually Assaulted a Child. Then He Failed to Register as a Sex Offender.

Jarrod Lee Bacon was convicted in Texas in 2017 of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

That conviction required him to register as a sex offender.

Years later, authorities said Bacon failed to comply with those requirements. A warrant was issued, and in April 2026, Austin police listed him as a high-priority fugitive.

For months, he remained wanted.

On June 15, 2026, Austin police arrested Bacon, ending the search.

The original conviction is the part that should never disappear beneath the fugitive story.

Aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Registration requirements exist because communities have a right to know when someone convicted of an offense this serious is living among them.

He was convicted. He was required to register. Authorities say he failed to do it.
