Justin Valk Murdered His Wife, Stephanie, Then Recorded Her Medical Emergency Instead of Getting Help

Justin T. Valk Murdered His Wife by Injecting Her With Methamphetamine and Fentanyl, Then Recorded Her Dying

Justin T. Valk of Davenport, New York, was convicted of murdering his wife, Stephanie Valk, after prosecutors proved that he repeatedly injected her with potentially lethal drugs and then failed to help her as she suffered a medical emergency.

Stephanie died in August 2022.

According to prosecutors, Valk injected his wife with multiple lethal doses of methamphetamine and fentanyl over approximately 24 hours while the couple was alone inside their Davenport home.

But what happened as Stephanie began dying made the case even more disturbing.

Evidence presented at trial showed that Valk recorded video of his wife suffering through the medical emergency.

For more than 20 hours, prosecutors said, he failed to call for medical assistance or provide meaningful aid as Stephanie became unresponsive.

Valk was arrested on August 5, 2022.

After a three-week trial, a Delaware County jury convicted him on January 23, 2026, under New York's “depraved indifference to human life” theory of second-degree murder. The jury acquitted him of intentional murder.

He was also convicted of first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and multiple felony drug-possession charges involving fentanyl, heroin, and methamphetamine.

On March 25, 2026, Valk was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for Stephanie's murder.

That sentence was ordered to run consecutively to a six-year prison term he was already serving for an unrelated burglary conviction, resulting in an effective sentence of 31 years to life.

The judge said Valk showed no remorse and refused to accept responsibility for his actions.

Stephanie Valk was not simply the woman seen suffering in evidence presented to a jury.

She was his wife. He injected her with fentanyl and methamphetamine, watched her medical condition deteriorate, and fucking recorded it instead of getting her help. A jury called it murder.
