Matthew Louis Hourany Admitted Coercing Children to Produce Sexual Abuse Material. He Was Sentenced to 30 Years.

Matthew Louis Hourany of Thorsby, Alabama, became the subject of a federal investigation involving the sexual exploitation of children.

The investigation involved the FBI, Alabama Attorney General's Office, and National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Hourany was arrested in March 2025.

In January 2026, he pleaded guilty to the federal production of child pornography, the statutory name of the offense.

As part of his guilty plea, Hourany admitted that he had enticed or coerced minors into producing child sexual abuse material on at least six separate occasions.

On April 30, 2026, a federal judge sentenced him to 30 years in federal prison.

Just over two months later, on July 5, 2026, Hourany died at age 37.

His death does not erase what had already been established in court. This wasn't an allegation left unresolved by his death. Hourany pleaded guilty and admitted exploiting children to create sexual abuse material repeatedly.

The language matters here, too. “Production of child pornography” may be the statutory offense, but what was being produced was a permanent record of children being sexually exploited.

At least six separate times, Matthew Hourany admitted coercing or enticing children to create sexual abuse material. He pleaded guilty. He got 30 years. He died two months later. The children he exploited still have to live with what he fucking did.
