Michael A. Tobin was a longtime Chicago commercial real estate executive who spent more than four decades in the industry.

Then he became a convicted felon.

In February 2026, Tobin pleaded guilty and was convicted of criminal sexual abuse and aggravated battery involving a 15-year-old boy at a Northbrook fitness facility.

Tobin was 73.

His sentence was 24 months of probation.

No prison.

He was also required to register as a sex offender for 10 years, undergo sex-offender evaluation and treatment, and have no contact with the victim.

A 73-year-old man sexually abused a 15-year-old child.

He was convicted of felony charges.

And he walked out of court with probation.
