Patrick J. King Killed His Girlfriend and Their Two Young Daughters Before Taking His Own Life

On March 27, 2026, 27-year-old Patrick J. King shot and killed his girlfriend and their two daughters inside their home in Plainville, Connecticut.

The victims were 31-year-old Felisha A. Matthews, 12-year-old Mileena Matthews, and 4-year-old Ava R. King.

Police were called shortly before 4 p.m. after King's sister reported that he had called her, confessed to shooting his family, and said he intended to kill himself.

A regional SWAT team surrounded the house and spent approximately two hours attempting to negotiate with King.

When officers eventually deployed pepper gas into the residence, King died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Inside, police found Felisha, Mileena, and Ava.

The Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that all three had been shot in the head and ruled their deaths homicides.

Investigators later obtained information about King's state of mind before the killings. During phone conversations, he reportedly discussed another killing and said he “didn't want to go back to jail.”

The firearm used in the killings was legally owned, and King had a valid permit to carry it.

Felisha was a former public-safety dispatcher. Mileena was a 12-year-old middle-school student and Felisha's daughter from a previous relationship. Ava, just 4, was the daughter Felisha and King shared.

King's suicide means there will never be a criminal trial.

But there should be no ambiguity about whose choices ended these lives.

Felisha was 31. Mileena was 12. Ava was fucking four. Patrick King decided he didn't want to face whatever came next in his own life, then made sure three other people didn't get to have a next at all.
