Pediatrician Earl Bradley Raped and Sexually Abused More Than 100 Children. Some Were Infants.

Earl Bradley was a Delaware pediatrician entrusted by parents to care for their children.

Instead, he became a serial child rapist whose victims included infants and very young children.

Bradley operated BayBees Pediatrics in Lewes, Delaware, from 2001 until his arrest in December 2009.

Investigators searching his medical office discovered something horrifying: Bradley had systematically videotaped himself sexually abusing children inside examination rooms, sometimes while their parents waited nearby.

Authorities ultimately identified 103 child victims.

Some were only months old.

Bradley was indicted on 471 counts involving rape, assault, and sexual exploitation of children. Investigators also uncovered evidence that concerns about his behavior had surfaced years earlier but had not resulted in intervention sufficient to stop him.

In 2011, Bradley was convicted and sentenced to 14 consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 164 years in prison.

The consequences extended far beyond his criminal prosecution.

In 2012, a $123 million civil settlement was reached on behalf of more than 1,400 patients and families who alleged abuse or claimed Bradley had violated the medical trust placed in him.

Bradley will spend the remainder of his life in prison.

The scale is staggering, but the numbers should never make the individual children disappear.

They were babies. Toddlers. Children brought into a pediatrician's office by parents who believed they were placing them in safe hands. Earl Bradley turned that trust into access, abused child after child, and fucking recorded himself doing it. Fourteen life sentences still cannot give those children back what he took from them.
