Richard Djerf Murdered Four Members of the Luna Family Over a Grudge Against Someone Else.

Richard Djerf Murdered an Entire Family Over a Grudge Against One Man Who Wasn't Even Home

Richard Kenneth Djerf wanted revenge against a former friend, Albert Luna Jr., whom he blamed for a burglary at his apartment.

So on September 14, 1993, Djerf went to the Luna family's Phoenix home pretending to deliver flowers.

Albert wasn't there.

His family was.

Over the next several hours, Djerf tortured and murdered four people: Albert's parents, Patricia Luna, 42, and Albert Luna Sr., 47, and Albert's siblings, Rochelle Luna, 18, and Damien Luna, 5.

Five years old.

After killing them, Djerf set the house on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence and fled in the family's car.

Albert Jr. came home later that night and discovered what had been done to his family.

Djerf eventually pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and was sentenced to death. After nearly three decades on Arizona's death row, he was executed by lethal injection on October 17, 2025.

The man Djerf supposedly wanted revenge against wasn't even home.

Patricia, Albert Sr., Rochelle, and five-year-old Damien had nothing to do with his fucking grudge. He murdered them anyway.
