San Jose Cop Patrick D’Arrigo Targeted Teenage Boys. He Got Home Arrest.

Patrick D’Arrigo spent 17 years with the San Jose Police Department.

Before that, he worked as a campus officer at a high school.

In 2011, investigators discovered that D’Arrigo had responded to a Craigslist dating ad posted by a teenager. The investigation uncovered sexual encounters involving two boys, ages 15 and 17, between 2008 and 2009.

At the time, D’Arrigo was still a police officer.

In 2012, he pleaded no contest to two felony counts of unlawful sexual contact with minors.

His sentence?

Eight months of home arrest.

He also received three years of probation, lifetime sex offender registration, and lost his job and pension.

Seventeen years wearing a badge.

Two teenage boys.

Two felony convictions.

And not a single day of that sentence behind bars.
