Sarah Dawn Haines Accused of Drugging and Trafficking a Child to a Man Who Sexually Abused Her

Sarah Dawn Haines Is Accused of Drugging a Child and Allowing a Man to Sexually Abuse Her for Money and Clothing

Sarah Dawn Haines of Beckley, West Virginia, is facing multiple felony charges involving the alleged trafficking and sexual abuse of a minor who was in her care.

The investigation began in August 2026 after authorities received allegations that dated back to August 2025.

According to the criminal complaint, Haines allegedly took the child to an unidentified man's home in Raleigh County and gave her medication that made her drowsy and restricted her movement.

The child reported waking up to find the man sexually abusing her.

Investigators allege this was not an isolated incident. The child reportedly told authorities that she was taken to the home multiple times and sexually abused there.

According to the allegations, Haines received money and clothing from the alleged perpetrator to continue bringing the child to him.

Authorities also allege that Haines later contacted the child and threatened self-harm in an attempt to prevent her from going to jail.

Haines was arrested on September 17, 2026, and charged with human trafficking involving a minor, sexual abuse of a child under 16 permitted by a parent, guardian or custodian, child neglect causing bodily injury, and conspiracy to commit a felony.

She was booked into the Southern Regional Jail on a $250,000 surety/cash bond.

These are allegations. Haines has not been convicted, and the charges must be proven in court.

But the accusation at the center of this case is devastating.

This child says the woman responsible for protecting her drugged her, delivered her repeatedly to a man who sexually abused her, and accepted money and clothing in return. Then, when the child spoke, Haines allegedly tried to make that child responsible for what would happen to her. That is a fucking unbearable burden to put on a child who was already trying to survive.
