Former School Resource Deputy Christian Linan Had Sex With a Student. He Got 75 Days in Jail.

Christian Linan was a school resource deputy with the Marion County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

His job put him inside a high school, surrounded by students he was supposed to protect.

Instead, investigators say Linan began an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student he encountered through his work at the school.

The investigation began after a former student came forward. Linan resigned from the sheriff's office immediately after investigators questioned him.

He was arrested in February 2024.

In May 2026, Linan pleaded guilty to three counts of lewd or lascivious battery on a child.

His sentence?

Seventy-five days in jail.

After that, Linan will serve two years of probation. He is also required to register as a sex offender and is prohibited from having contact with the victim.

Linan had worked for the sheriff's office since 2016 and became the school resource officer at Dunnellon High School in 2022.

This wasn't some stranger who happened to meet a teenager.

He was the fucking school resource deputy. He was put inside that school to help keep kids safe. He sexually exploited one instead.
