Thomas Hose Met Tanya Kach at Her School. Then He Kept Her Hidden in His Home for 10 Years.

Thomas John Hose Kidnapped and Sexually Abused a 14-Year-Old Girl He Met While Working at Her School

Thomas John Hose was working as a security guard at Cornell Middle School in Pennsylvania when he met 14-year-old Tanya Nicole Kach.

In 1996, Hose took Kach to his home and kept her there for roughly 10 years.

Kach later described years of isolation, manipulation, and sexual abuse. She was kept largely hidden from the outside world and sometimes confined to an upstairs bedroom.

In 2006, Kach finally escaped and sought help from a local business owner.

Hose was arrested and ultimately pleaded guilty to multiple offenses, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of a minor, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was sentenced to 5 to 15 years in state prison.

Hose served the maximum 15 years and was released in 2022. He remains a registered sex offender.

Tanya was 14 when she disappeared.

She was 24 when she finally got out.

Ten years of a girl's life were taken from her by a man who first encountered her while working at her school.
