Ryan Whiten Murdered His Two Young Daughters and Their Mother Before Killing Himself in Florida

On June 2, 2026, Ryan Charles Whiten, 42, stabbed his two daughters and their mother to death inside their home in Doral, Florida, before dying by suicide.

The victims were:

• Melanie Lauren Hyer, 46, the girls' mother

• Savannah Whiten, 11, their oldest daughter

• Sienna Whiten, 8, their youngest daughter

That Tuesday, Miami-Dade sheriff's deputies conducted a welfare check at the family's home in the Doral Isles community.

Inside, they discovered four bodies.

All four had suffered fatal stab wounds.

Investigators determined that Whiten had killed Melanie, Savannah, and Sienna before taking his own life.

Melanie was a local real estate agent.

She and Whiten had reportedly separated years earlier but continued living in the same house while raising their daughters.

Savannah and Sienna attended Downtown Doral Charter Schools.

Following their deaths, grief counselors were brought in to help classmates, teachers, and staff cope with the loss.

Authorities have not publicly established a motive.

Because Whiten died, there will be no criminal trial.

Melanie was 46. Savannah was eleven. Sienna was eight.

Three people with their own lives, their own futures, and every right to feel safe inside their home.

Two little girls who should have been finishing another school year, making summer plans, and growing into whoever they wanted to become.

Instead, their father killed them.

Savannah and Sienna didn't get to grow up. Melanie didn't get to watch them.

Whatever was happening between the adults, those little girls had absolutely nothing to fucking answer for.
